The Republic of Cyprus is a beautiful island country in the East Mediterranean. Its warm weather and sandy beaches make it a popular tourist destination. Driving from Paphos to Ayia Napa takes less than two hours, and having your own car rental means you can easily explore the whole island at your leisure. Explore the rugged terrain of the Troodos mountains before heading to the eastern coast of Cyprus for white sand views and a beach party atmosphere.

The subtropical climate of the island allows for average temperatures of 16 degrees across the Easter period. Those who have booked a car rental will be pleased to hear that driving in Cyprus is near identical to driving in the UK. Road signs are easy to follow and written in both Greek and English. Cars also drive on the left, and there are no toll paying roads in the whole country! With 8 different branches across Cyprus, picking up a car hire should be no hassle at all, and leaves you with more time to get started with your holiday.

The Kingdom of Morocco is a popular tourist destination in North Africa. It is a country of opposites, offering both mountain skylines and swathing deserts, and both an Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline. The national languages are Arabic and Berber, although French is widely spoken too. Likewise, the culture is formed of an intoxicating mix of Arab, indigenous Berber, Sub-Saharan African, and European influences.

With such a range of terrain and mix of historic cities to visit such as Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat, a car rental is a great way to see the whole country. Sixt has 16 car hire branches across Morocco, meaning no matter your route we should be able to help you get started.Around Easter, the popular city of Marrakech is an average temperature of 18 degrees, meaning you probably won’t be needing any heavy jumpers! The road signs (give way, stop, etc.,) are the same international signs as elsewhere, although in more rural areas sign posts are likely to only be written in Arabic. Check your route before you start driving! For safety reasons, do not drive at all at night and be warned that driving in cities generally is extremely busy. Congestion is a big problem, and not just from cars – expect donkeys, carts and even people on the roads! A final word of caution: speed limits are strictly enforced in Morocco, so don’t be fooled into thinking you can unleash your inner speed demon just because road practices seem slightly more haphazard than we are used to.

The Republic of Malta, as its officially known, is an island just off the south coast of Italy. It is one of the world’s smallest and most densely populated countries in the world, and the capital Valletta is the smallest national capital in the European Union. On account of this, renting a car is a great option for getting around: it takes just under an hour to drive from one side of the island to the other, so no matter how many places you plan on visiting, you are assured there won’t be too long of a drive getting back to your hotel.

The weather over Easter in Malta is a balmy average of 15 degrees, and there is an expected 10 hours of daily sunshine. Driving in Malta is not generally a problem for us Brits as it all seems fairly familiar. All of the road signs are in English, and they drive on the left hand side. Also good to know is that both international and national driving licenses are accepted. Sixt has five car hire branches in Malta, so don’t waste any time in booking your rental car now!
